The Portal of Universal Being

Dear ones,

I want to write you today about a tender and sensitive topic. We have changed the name of the Great Mother Temple.

I have always been a bit uncomfortable with the designation of ‘temple’ as it has felt like imposing a historical function over what I experience as a very quiet, humble offering. Perhaps a bit of history might be explanatory. 

During Covid, those of us who were working the land found ourselves one day, in our masks, maintaining 5 feet of distance, suddenly rebelling about the insanity of it all. We ripped our masks off, determined to dedicate a portion of the land to all that is holy, beautiful, and true.

We gathered totems: a lovely Mary statue to hold the energy of the Great Mother, Archangel Michael, the wolf, a deer, a dragon. Carrying them in our arms, we wandered the land looking for the right site. We were in an open field against a far fence when behind us the neighbor’s five horses started whinnying and stampeding toward the opposite corner of the land. They stood there and whinnied loudly until we turned around, holding our totems, and realized that’s where the Mother was to be placed.

For several years, the prayer circle functioned as a charming, peaceful, pastural destination where people would gather and celebrate on occasion, but it remained in 3D. Then, one morning in August 2024, as I walked my usual path to the circle, something incredulous happened. A tiny branch of a very small willow sapling brushed my right arm as I walked past, but it did so with absolute consciousness. I had not inadvertently run into that tree. That tender branch caressed my arm with full awareness. Needless to say, it stopped me in my tracks.

In a state of complete presence, I walked into the prayer circle, sat down, and felt the space palpably alive with unassailable Purity. I was able to sit within the experience of that Purity effortlessly for about 30 minutes. I had to go back the next day to see if what I had experienced was a one-off. 

The second day when I sat, the energy was not Purity but ineffable Peace. The Peace that is eternal. 

The third day I sat, I was inducted into the experience of pure Being, the reality at the core of all life. It was a feeling of seamless, tremulous connectivity to all and everything… like being in an oceanic atmosphere, where the movement of a passing ray causes the sea frond to sway and the parrotfish to alter its course. The felt realization that God is One.

Following these three immersions, I called an old mentor of mine to get his take on what was going on. He said that a portal had opened on the land and the energies being emitted were those of universal being. As I sat with the astonishment and unparalleled honor of having the Holy open in my backyard, I realized we had to make the opportunity to bathe in these vibrations available to the greater community. 

Listening inwardly, I heard, “put a small sign on the gate that simply says, ‘enter and receive.’”

To this day, I feel this is the highest function of the portal. It is an offering from spirit to sit in the frequencies at the core of creation that help us rebalance, remember, and realign with our original design.

To that end, I feel a truer name would be the Portal of Universal Being. 

Going forward, the Portal will be open and available for drop-ins from Wednesday to Sunday, 10am to 4pm. 

Anyone who feels the call to reset themselves is invited to sit and receive the energies of immaculate innocence, inherent goodness, innate compassion… original nature.

Drop-in sitting will always be free. Donations to the maintenance of the Portal are appreciated.
